“Ki” is the circulating life energy that in Chinese philosophy is inherent in all things. Ki Fitness and Martial Arts Academy is a lifestyle martial arts and fitness studio based on the traditional way of teaching martial arts. Martial arts is not simply about fighting, combat, or sports competition. It is a way of life based on physical and philosophical methods and training. At Ki, we use this approach to provide a unique experience for each student to become self-aware and realize his or her full potential as an individual.
Private lessons and small classes are available. Classes are small to maintain a unique personal experience for each student. With both youth and adult programs available, we offer teachings in Jeet Kune Do, Tai Chi, Qigong, Pilates, Yoga, and “KiFit” Fitness. While all of these can help augment a martial artist’s skills and awareness, the classes for each are offered independently to the public for anyone who wants to attend.
JKD and KiFit classes are taught by Sifu Andy who specializes in authentic Bruce Lee Jeet Kune Do (JKD) as it was taught to his Sifu, Jerry Poteet, by Sifu Bruce Lee; “simple, direct, and non-classical”. Sifu Andy is one of a very small elite group of people in the world certified directly by Jerry Poteet to teach second-generation Jeet Kune Do.
